Living and Working in Germany

Annie Panton, Director, Quintus Consultants

"Quintus has been very impressed with Communicaid's ability to understand and respond to the needs of employees and their families when being assigned or seconded to overseas locations or into the UK."

Situated in the heart of Europe and fundamentally shaped by European history, Germany is

characterised by deep regional identities while at the same time conveying a strong national

culture. As the most populous nation in Europe and a major driving force behind the EU, Germany’s

role as the economic and political powerhouse of Europe remains largely unrivalled over the past half century.  An attractive choice for foreign investment, all of the world’s largest corporations are present in Germany and over two million expatriates are based there.

An international assignment in Germany can be a challenging experience and failure to adapt to the new German cultural rules and behaviours can cause frustration and misunderstanding.  Communicaid’s Living & Working in Germany courses are designed to respond to the needs of international assignees being seconded to Germany by providing practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Germany, as well as conveying an understanding of the underlying elements that shape German business and social culture inside and outside the workplace.
