Suitable tailored and published materials will be used throughout your course, with recommendations on self-study material and extra reading made at the beginning and throughout the duration of your course.

We offer a variety of training formats for your Danish course – from intensive, weeklong courses to extensive, modular lessons.  Appropriate formats will be discussed during your diagnostic consultancy (please click here to read more about our approach).

All Communicaid Danish trainers are native speakers with at least 3 years’ professional Danish training experience.  In addition to relevant academic and linguistic qualifications and experience, many of our Danish trainers also possess considerable exposure and expertise in the professional world.

Your Danish trainer will be assigned to you following the results of your diagnostic consultancy according to your objectives and areas of focus.  Detailed below is a sample profile of a member of our Danish training team.

dansk – Facts about the Danish language

The official language of Denmark, Danish is spoken by approximately 6 million native speakers worldwide, most of whom are based in Denmark and in the former Danish colonies of Greenland and the Faroe Islands.  However, a small community of Danish speakers continues today in Northern Germany, where Danish holds the official status of a protected minority language.

Part of the North Germanic group of languages, the Danish language is closely related to the Swedish and Norwegian languages.   Danish dialects are divided into three general dialect groups:  Østdansk or Københavnsk ("Eastern Danish") or ("Copenhagenish"), Ødansk ("Island Danish") and Jysk ("Jutlandish") with standard Danish ‘rigsdansk or rigsmål’ based around the dialect spoken in and around Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital city.

Danish is written using the Latin alphabet, with three additional letters: æ, ø, and å.
