“We all enjoyed the programme very much and found it most useful! Our trainer’s tailor-made approach, together with his good knowledge and experience on the subject and his funny sense of humour made it really enjoyable!”

Why attend Supporting Expatriate Employees? The impact of culture is felt not only by international assignees, but also by their host-country managers and colleagues. While they may not have endured the trauma of an international move, they will be working with colleagues whose methods of working, style of interaction and expression may be completely new and foreign.

Communicaid's public cultural awareness course,Supporting Expatriate Employees is aimed at managers and HR professionals who regularly work, interact with and manage expatriate staff. It would be easy to suggest that ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do’ and expect expatriate staff members to adapt to their hostcountry ways of doing things. However, such an approach lacks the necessary cultural sensitivity to help expatriates integrate positively and effectively into their new workplace and is likely to lead to unnecessary misunderstanding, uneasy working relationships and potential loss of business.
