KFB – Cultural Awareness Trainer – Hungary
KFB is currently director of the Institute of International Communication at the College of Management and Business Studies in Budapest. She also gives lectures and seminars on Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, and Intercultural Management, within the framework of a dual awards programme co-organised by her College and a British university (the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside) at undergraduate and MBA levels.
KFB is Hungarian by birth and has been interested in the diversity of cultures since early childhood. She spent a year in Russia, studying as a university student and travelling all over the former Soviet Union.
A graduate of ELTE University of Budapest, Hungary, in English linguistics and literature and Russian linguistics and literature, she started teaching Business English at the English Department of the College of Management and Business Studies, Budapest, and has been working there ever since. In 1983-84 she spent a year doing socio-linguistic research in North America (New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Louisiana) with American-Hungarian bilingual communities. Her research findings, based on interviews with more than 500 managers and employees, have been published in Hungary and internationally. She has given lectures and presentations on the subject at Hungarian, British and French universities and business schools, and at SIETAR Europa (Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research) congresses.
She also occasionally acts as a private consultant to American-Hungarian joint ventures and as an intercultural trainer for large multinational companies.
