Living and Working in Afghanistan

Etienne Camslun Clerical Medical

“I found the training very relevant to daily life and practices."

Why Living and Working in Afghanistan? Afghanistan is strategically situated along the ancient Silk Route at the crossroads between the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Central Asia and is surrounded by mountains. The country’s geographical position has created a population of a diverse cultural, religious and ethnic mix.  Although the country has experienced high levels of conflict, the country’s situation has now significantly improved. With the establishment of the new constitution and a democratic government in 2004, the country’s relative stability has attracted an increase in foreign investments.  Living and working in Afghanistan is an exciting but also challenging venture as it demands a thorough understanding of this complex and diverse society, its rules, behaviours, norms and values which influence many aspects of everyday life.  Failure to do so may result in misunderstanding, frustration and an unsuccessful experience of living and working in Afghanistan.

Communicaid’s Living and Working in Afghanistan courses are specially tailored to meet the unique needs of international assignees and their families by providing practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Afghanistan. Training also provides international assignees with a comprehensive understanding of the cultural values and attitudes that shape Afghan culture, both in and out of the workplace.
