Living and Working in Croatia

Wendy Turpin, Cadbury Schweppes

"Our trainer took a very empathetic approach to our training and created an atmosphere where we felt able to ask any questions no matter how trivial they felt."

Why Living and Working in Croatia? Croatia owes its exceptional cultural heritage to years of influence by various civilisations including Greek, Roman and Byzantine. As a former republic of Yugoslavia, Croatia is a relatively new autonomous Balkan country that gained its independence in 1991. Its economy has been growing due to the tourism industry and increased consumer spending making it an attractive destination for new business developments. Since 2000, Croatia has reached economic stability, ensuring a steady inflation rate and stable currency which has enabled the country to apply for EU membership which they hope to obtain by 2010. Today, Croatia is also known for its many historical cities and startling natural beauty adding to its popularity as an emerging tourist destination.

Croatia is an ideal location for potential business investments but living and working in Croatia can be challenging and rewarding at the same time. An understanding of the cultural differences between Croatian culture and your own can lead to a smoother transition and minimise misunderstandings and frustrations.  Communicaid’s Living and Working in Croatia courses are designed to respond to the needs of international assignees by providing practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Croatia.  Delegates participating in a Living and Working in Croatia course will gain a comprehensive insight into Croatian culture to ensure they have a successful experience living and working in Croatia.
