Living and Working in Iran

James Goober, DEFRA

"It was great to have one on one with the trainer and to learn from his experience, using his presentation to aid our exploration."

Why Living and Working in Iran? Previously known as Persia, a great empire, Iran became an Islamic Republic in 1979. Iran is geographically situated at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Iran is the 18th largest country in the world and boasts a great ethnic, cultural and linguistic mix. Iran has an abundance of energy resources, especially gas and oil reserves which make it an attractive opportunity for foreign companies and delegates to live and work in.  Due to past and current events, an international assignment in Iran can be a challenging and stressful experience. Failure to understand its past and present situation and the influence this has on Iranian social and business culture can make an international assignment in Iran even more difficult.

Living and working in Iran requires the ability to adapt to the Iranian way of life and understanding of its unique set of cultural rules and behaviours in order to avoid possible frustration, misunderstandings and failure.  Communicaid’s Living & Working in Iran courses are designed to provide practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Iran, and also convey an understanding of the underlying elements that shape Iranian business and social culture.
