Living and Working in Venezuela

Vikram & Shikha Arora, Financial Analyst, Cadbury

“She was specific on the issues and the needs and did a marvellous job. I recommend this to all new comers in the country."

Why Living and Working in Venezuela? Located at the tip of South America, Venezuela is home to a unique fusion of cultures combining indigenous, African and Spanish elements.  Spared from serious tensions between its different populations Venezuela was able to build a stable economic foundation and join the global oil boom in the latter half of the 20th century.  World market fluctuations, however, have increasingly exposed the disadvantage of sole dependency on oil revenue.  Current economic uncertainties combined with a sometimes controversial governing style have left many economists to forecast difficult times ahead for Venezuela. That said, the incumbent government remains optimistic for the future and believes opportunities for western investment will increase.

Embarking on business ventures to Venezuela can be a challenging experience with a crucial impact on the business outcome. It is therefore important for anyone living and working in Venezuela to understand the underlying elements that shape Venezuelan culture inside and outside the workplace.  Communicaid’s Living & Working in Venezuela courses will provide international assignees with practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Venezuela.  A familiarity of Venezuelan social and business culture is essential to minimise the risk of financial losses and possibly unsuccessful international assignments in Venezuela.
