Located in the centre of Southeast Asia, Thailand has recently enjoyed a boom of foreign investment and tourism. Thai culture is closely related to that of its direct neighbours, especially Cambodia , yet it is also infused with Indian and Chinese elements. Buddhism in particular has had a large influence on Thai culture. A struggling new democracy, Thailand has recently been tested by economic crises and military coups, but its influence on regional and international affairs remains strong. Thailand 's economy, fuelled by an export market of rice, textiles, electronics and ever increasing numbers of foreign tourists, is growing at a healthy rate. As organisations increasingly send employees on international assignment to this progressive country, it is imperative that they first gain an understanding of the people, history and business environment in order to succeed living and working in Thailand .
Failure to adapt to Thai business and social culture can cause frustration and misunderstanding which can lead to an unnecessarily challenging and stressful international assignment in Thailand . Communicaid's Living & Working in Thailand courses are designed to respond to the needs of international assignees moving to Thailand by providing practical information and advice on the various aspects of living and working in Thailand , as well as conveying an understanding of the underlying elements that shape Thai culture socially and professionally.
