Estonian course content

The content and format of your Estonian language course will depend on your profession, proficiency in Estonian and objectives. Whether beginner, survival, intermediate or advanced, key areas covered in all our Estonian courses include:

Approach

Estonian training is available seven days a week, 365 days a year.   Training takes place between 08:00 and 20:00 although training is also available outside of these hours upon request. 

Suitable tailored and published materials will be used throughout your course, with recommendations on self-study material and extra reading made at the beginning and throughout the duration of your course.

We offer a variety of training formats for your Estonian language course – from intensive, weeklong courses to extensive, modular lessons.  Appropriate formats will be discussed during your diagnostic consultancy (please click here to read more about our approach).

Estonian course trainer

All Communicaid Estonian trainers are native speakers with at least 3 years’ professional Estonian training experience.  In addition to relevant academic and linguistic qualifications and experience, many of our Estonian trainers also possess considerable exposure and expertise in the professional world.

Your Estonian trainer will be assigned to you following the results of your diagnostic consultancy according to your objectives and areas of focus.  Detailed below is a sample profile of a member of our Estonian training team.

AA

AA has been working in adult education for more than 20 years.  She initially started her career as a Teacher of English and Technical Translation at Tallinn Pedagogical University and Tallinn Technical University in Estonia.  Subsequently, on relocating to the UK, AA has worked for Communicaid by successfully delivering long running Estonian courses to public sector organisations such as the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence.

The official language of Estonia, Estonian is spoken by approximately 1.1 million people, most of whom are based in Estonia.

Belonging to the Finnic branch of the Finno-Ugric languages, Estonian is related to the Finnish language and shares its status as being one of the few non Indo-European languages in Europe.  Like Finnish, Estonian writing is based on the Latin alphabet with a German influence resulting in 32 letters in the alphabet.
