Approach

Communicaid’s Turkish courses are available seven days a week, 365 days a year. Training takes place between 08:00 and 20:00 although courses are also available outside of these hours upon request. 

Suitable tailored and published Turkish language course materials will be used throughout, with recommendations on self-study material and extra reading made at the beginning and during your Turkish course.

Turkish course trainer

All Communicaid Turkish language trainers are native speakers with at least 3 years’ professional Turkish training experience.  In addition to relevant academic and linguistic qualifications and experience, many of our Turkish trainers also possess considerable exposure and expertise in the professional world.

Your Turkish trainer will be assigned to you following the results of your diagnostic consultancy according to your objectives and areas of focus.  Detailed below is a sample profile of a member of our Turkish training team.

NOP

 

NOP has extensive training experience across a range of backgrounds.  She started her career as a freelance Turkish language trainer, interpreter and translator in 2001.  She has been teaching a variety of Turkish courses for government and corporate sector clients including SOAS and the Metropolitan Police Hackney Training Centre. 

NOP is also a moderator and examiner for Language Services (Institute of Linguists) and Turkish support trainer for Bilingual Skills and DPSI at College of North West London.  Currently, NOP is involved in delivering advanced Turkish courses at the Defence School of Languages.

 

Türkçe– Facts about the Turkish language

Turkish is the official language of Turkey.  It is also an official language of Cyprus, along with Greek.  Estimated figures of native Turkish speakers range between 59 and 73 million.  Communities of native Turkish speakers can also be found in Bulgaria, Greece, Republic of Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro. 

Turkish is a Turkic language of the Altaic family of languages.  It is most closely related to other Turkic languages such as those spoken in Azerbaijan (Azeri), Uzbekistan (Uzbek), Kazakhstan (Kazakh) and Turkmenistan (Turkmen) where there is a high degree of mutual intelligibility.  Modern standard Turkish is based on the Istanbul dialect or variation. 

Turkish is written using a modified form of the Latin alphabet. The Turkish alphabet consists of twenty-nine letters and includes ç, g, ö, s, ü.
