I really enjoyed the cross-cultural theory and mix of references. Our trainer managed to get people of all levels in the team involved, whether our admin staff or associate directors.
Leanna Caron, Senior Director , European Marketing, Genzyme EuropeFollowing a pre-departure international assignment training course is invaluable to help any future international assignee adapt quickly and successfully to the target country.
Sending high potential employees and executives overseas is common practice for many international organisations and allows them to use their workforce’s existing skills to lead or develop a local branch or oversee an international project. Working in a different cultural context can be challenging, however and the ability to successfully adapt to the new social and professional culture is key to achieving outstanding results.
This adaptation process can take time though as working habits and cultural values can be completely different from the international assignee’s own culture. A failure to adapt to the target culture will create frustration and hinder the performance of international assignees. Providing them with the knowledge and tools to cope with the many cultural differences they face at work and in their social life is essential. The programme will give you the knowledge and skills you need to understand and effectively manage the possible cultural challenges that await you during your international assignment.
Designed in close collaboration with key decision makers and the international assignee, offering Communicaid’s International Assignment Training Programme to international assignees is the best way to ensure they hit the ground running and maximise the opportunities of living and working in another culture. Through a combination of country information, cultural theory and practical case studies, assignees will be able to develop strategies to cope with culture shock and adapt quickly to life in the new country.
